Fireman Matt from the New Zealand Fire Service came for an educational talk and song around fire safety.
The children have been investigating the fire service, what they do and how they help others. Having Matt visit gave us a good understanding of ‘good’ fire (birthday candles, BBQs, using the fire place) and ‘bad’ fire (when a fire becomes dangerous, or is inside the home).
The children engaged in a great song that reiterates “get out, stay out, well done”. Together we covered the programme book and as we continue on this learning we hope to have the fire truck visit us real soon!
Remember to have smoke alarms in all bedrooms and check them regularly.
