“Loved the stories, suggestions, resources and photos from the teachers. It’s also been nice having the teachers comment on photos that we are sharing”.
“They’ve given me ideas for arts and crafts with the kids to keep them learning and interacting with them”.
“Thanks for the recipes! We are starting to run low on paint already so this is perfect”.
Just a few of the wonderful words of feedback that Eden Cottage teachers have been receiving over the last 5 weeks as they have supported whānau and their tamariki with fun educational activities through online platforms. Teachers have been able to post activities online and families have been able to connect with the community of Eden Cottage and share with everyone their photos of activities they have done at home. There has even been online mat times and opportunities to talk with the teachers.
Head Teacher Katrina says “Everyday our teachers post up ideas for families to do with their child. These include; songs, dances, stories, crafts, scavenger hunts, games, or exercises. The teachers have a theme for the week which gives the learning focus. So far we have celebrated Easter, Anzac and our own Eden Cottage community all online. Next week we are celebrating Mother’s Day.”
A superb effort from our Eden Cottage team! They have quickly embraced a very different way of delivering learning activities to enable a continuation of education and support of our precious tamariki and their whānau during the lockdown period.
