Eden Cottage was established in 1983 as a way to meaningfully support the growing number of young families in our community.

Almost 40 years later, we remain committed to partnering with parents and whānau so that our tamariki can thrive and look forward to a bright future.

Our te reo name – Te Iti Kahurangi – speaks of the precious small treasures that our tamariki are – treasures who deserve our best educational care and aroha.

Based in a homely cottage setting, we are able to welcome up to 38 tamariki between the ages of 2-5 years to what will be their home away from home.

My name is Crystal, I am an Anglo-Indian. Having grown up in India, I’ve lived in New Zealand for 22 years. I live locally with my husband and two children. Working with children is a dream I had since childhood. I love seeing tamariki grow socially and in their education, and I love serving my community in this way.

I love children, and it’s a passion of mine to see them grow and learn new skills. It’s an absolute blessing to be a part of this centre and to be working with such amazing teachers while I study ECE.
